Manhattan – simple but brilliant cocktail

The Manhattan is a simple-to-make and elegant cocktail. One of my personal favourites. There are many variations, but don’t get tricked into substituting bourbon for the original rye whisky. The rye is much better. And entry level brand Canadian Club makes a fine Manhattan.

Deauville – the Sazerac reformulated

The Deauville is my reworked version of the old classic cocktail the Sazerac. Led by the fact that I’m not keen on the flavour of aniseed, I swapped out the absinthe, and replaced it with Chartreuse. Also I find Yellow Chatreuse works better than green. Tastes better and the colour is better too.
