New cocktail recipe – Cote d’Azur

A few years ago, I was mucking about in the apothecary, which simply means I was experimenting with a little liquid alchemy. Having created the mighty, albeit strong St. Louis combining Southern Comfort, brandy, with Monin peach syrup and latterly a little Fee Brothers peach bitters, I developed the theme. This led me to create the Cote d’Azur. Named after the French inspired ¬†combination of ingredients, and again using 2 spirits and a syrup, this one has to be approached with some caution, but it is packed with flavour.

One for shaking with ice in your shaker and then pouring into either a Martini glass or a whisky-style tumbler it benefits from being poured into a glass containing ice.

50 ml French brandy

50 ml Absolut pear vodka

25 ml Monin pear syrup

This is one good cocktail. Not a session drink by any means, but one to finish the evening with perhaps.
