A few years ago, I was mucking about in the apothecary, which simply means I was experimenting with a little liquid alchemy. Having created the mighty, albeit strong St. Louis combining Southern Comfort, brandy, with Monin peach syrup and latterly a little Fee Brothers peach bitters, I developed the theme. This led me to create the Cote d’Azur. Named after the French inspired combination of ingredients, and again using 2 spirits and a syrup, this one has to be approached with some caution, but it is packed with flavour.
Cote d’Azur cocktail
One for shaking with ice in your shaker and then pouring into either a Martini glass or a whisky-style tumbler it benefits from being poured into a glass containing ice.
50 ml French brandy
50 ml Absolut pear vodka
25 ml Monin pear syrup
This is one good cocktail. Not a session drink by any means, but one to finish the evening with perhaps.
