The Rosadka Martini is another of my creations based on the original Martini formula : i.e. white spirit and vermouth. While I’m not necessarily a huge fan of the classic Martini. As far as I can tell it seems to be simply neat gin with a whatever of vermouth. And who drinks neat gin? I’m prepared to accept that the new barrel-aged gins may be suitable for such imbibing, but other than that…….
This one is vodka based so is a real Martini – albeit vodka based. I’ve based it around the attractive Pinky vodka. The label tells us it is a botanical vodka, containing “essence of rose petals, violets and strawberries: to magically transform the taste of any cocktail.”
To that we add rosato vermouth, which is an attractive rose coloured, light vermouth and then some Monin raspberry syrup to bring out the fruity flavours plus a few rhubarb bitters to balance out the cocktail and cut through the syrup. The full recipe is as follows;
- 2 msrs Pinky vodka
- 1 msr rosato vermouth
- 2 tsps raspberry syrup
- 6 dashes rhubarb bitters
Combine in a shaker with ice. Serve in a Martini glass – obviously! And then by all means add a little ice to the glass if you feel your cocktail needs a little dilution.
Let me know how you get on. Cheers.
One of the other martini style creations – this one featuring cardamom is the Cardamartini. Based on gin this time around, but otherwise similar in style.
