The world’s 50 best cocktail bars. Who says? Well Drinks International actually. They produce their league table each year which is closely studied by the industry. So these are not my views, or those of the man on the Clapham omnibus, but instead of a respected industry institution.
To find out all the details follow the link to the World’s Best 50 cocktail bars. Part of the good news is that if you’re in London, then you can visit some of these easily as they’re on your doorstep. 3 of the top 10 are in London. You’re equally lucky if you’re a New Yorker too. 6 of the World’s top 10 are in those 2 cities.
And congratulations to Alex Kratena and the team at the Artesian Bar for being number 1 for the third year in a row.
I was mightily impressed by the class of the place when I visited one Saturday lunchtime a while ago. The bar is in the Langham Hotel just off Regent Street if you’re planning on going. The American Bar at the Savoy is one of the world’s top 10 too, but is also worth visiting for the history. The first cocktail bar of any note in the UK, serving cocktails even before the Eiffel Tower was built!
I still have Nightjar to visit, so that’s on the list along with some others such as 69 Colebrook Row (aka the Bar with no Name) and others I’ll preview in future posts.
